Privacy policy
Last updated 30 October 2026. Battlefield Atlas is a personal project run by Ronnie Adkins. It collects as little as it can, doesn't sell or rent your information, and runs no advertising trackers.
1. Browsing without an account
You can use the free battles without signing in. The site counts which battles and stages are opened, and from which country, so I know what people use. These counts contain no IP address, name or account and can't be traced back to you. If you arrived from one of my promotional links, a small cookie (atlas_src) remembers which link, so I can tell which posts bring people in.
Your browser also keeps a few settings on your own device, such as the map style you chose and whether you've seen the guide. These never leave your browser.
2. Signing in
When you sign in, the site sets one cookie (atlas_session) that keeps you signed in. It is signed so it can't be forged, and it holds only an account ID, your first name and what you have unlocked.
- Patreon. Patreon tells the site your Patreon user ID, name and membership level for this campaign.
- Kick. Kick tells the site your Kick user ID and name, and the site checks its own list of channel subscriptions.
- Google. Google tells the site your name and verified email address. The site keeps only a one-way hashed ID made from your email (so the same account works next time) and your first name.
- Email link. Your email address is sent to Resend, the email service, to deliver a one-time sign-in link. The site keeps the same one-way hashed ID, not the address, plus short-lived counters that stop the form being abused.
Battlefield Atlas never sees or stores a password. Signing out deletes the session cookie.
If you bought something while signed in with Patreon or Kick, an email sign-in with the same address as your Stripe receipt (or an address you confirm with "Add email sign-in") opens those purchases too. The link between them is stored under the same one-way hashed ID.
2a. Email updates
If you choose to get new-battle emails (a checkbox when you sign in, or the sign-up form), your email address is stored with the date you joined and how you signed up, and it is shared with Resend to send the emails. Sign-up through the form asks you to confirm by email first. Every update email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops them right away. Addresses are never sold or shared for anyone else's marketing.
3. Purchases
War packs and lifetime access are paid through Stripe. Stripe handles your card details; Battlefield Atlas never sees them. The site keeps a record of what you bought (the account it belongs to, the Stripe payment reference, the amount, the date and the receipt email Stripe returns) so your purchase keeps working and I can help if something goes wrong. Patreon memberships are billed by Patreon under its own privacy policy.
4. Forms
If you use the contact form, your name, email and message are stored so I can reply. If you use "Report a problem", your description and technical details (the battle and stage, screen size, browser and recent error messages) are stored so I can fix it. Both forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that you're a person.
5. Other services the site uses
- Cloudflare hosts the site and processes every request, as any web host does.
- Mapbox serves the maps and satellite imagery and receives the usual technical information (such as your IP address) needed to deliver them.
- Wikimedia Commons and other archives serve some images directly to your browser.
- Funker530 plays combat footage in an embedded player under its own terms and privacy policy.
- Patreon, Kick, Google, Resend and Stripe, only when you choose to sign in, buy something or join the email updates.
Each of these handles data under its own privacy policy.
6. How long things are kept
Sessions expire on their own (from one hour to 30 days, depending on how you signed in). Sign-in links expire after 15 minutes. Purchase records are kept for as long as the atlas runs, because they are what keep your purchase unlocked. Usage counts are kept in aggregate. Messages and bug reports are kept until they are dealt with and for reference afterward.
7. Your choices
You can browse without an account, sign out at any time, and block or delete cookies in your browser (you'll need to sign in again). To ask what is held about you, or to have it deleted, use the contact form. A purchase record can be deleted, but the purchase then can't be restored.
8. Children
The atlas covers war, including real combat footage, and isn't directed at children under 13. I don't knowingly collect information from them.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
10. Contact
Questions about privacy go through the contact form. See also the terms of service.
