Terms of service
Last updated 29 October 2026. These terms cover your use of Battlefield Atlas at battlefieldatlas.app. By using the site you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
1. Who runs Battlefield Atlas
Battlefield Atlas is a personal project run by Ronnie Adkins ("I", "me"). Questions about these terms or your purchases go through the contact form.
2. A beta product
The atlas is in beta and under active development. Maps, features and battles change, sometimes quickly. I may add, change or remove features at any time.
3. Accounts and sign-in
You can use the free battles without an account. To unlock more, you sign in with Patreon or Kick. Those services handle your password; Battlefield Atlas never sees or stores it. You are responsible for activity under your sign-in. Please don't share access or try to get around the paywall.
4. What you can buy
- Battlefield Explorer. A monthly membership through Patreon that unlocks every battle and the map downloads while it is active. Patreon handles the billing, renewals and cancellations under its own terms; cancel there and access ends when the paid period does.
- War packs. One-time purchases that unlock the battles of one war. A pack is yours permanently at the price you paid, including battles added to that pack later. A battle is never taken out of a pack you bought.
- Lifetime access. A one-time purchase (currently $29.99) that unlocks every battle, current and future, and the map downloads. "Lifetime" means for as long as Battlefield Atlas operates. Money you have spent on war packs counts toward the lifetime price.
One-time purchases are processed by Stripe; Battlefield Atlas does not see or store your card details. Prices can change, including the planned rise of the lifetime price as more battles are added. A price change never affects something you have already bought.
5. All sales are final
Purchases of war packs and lifetime access are final and non-refundable, except where the law requires a refund. If something you bought isn't working, get in touch and I will fix the access problem. Patreon memberships follow Patreon's own refund terms.
6. Using the maps
Your access is for your own personal, non-commercial use: study, teaching, writing, discussion, and sharing links. You can share screenshots with credit to Battlefield Atlas. Please don't:
- copy, scrape or bulk-download the maps or data, or republish or resell them;
- share downloaded map files (KMZ) publicly or with people who haven't bought access;
- attack, overload or try to break into the site, or get around the sign-in.
Teachers and researchers who want to use the maps in a course or publication are welcome to ask through the contact form.
7. Other people's content
Satellite imagery and base maps come from Mapbox and OpenStreetMap contributors. Paintings, photographs and historical maps come from Wikimedia Commons, libraries and other sources, each credited and licensed by its owner. Source links go to other websites I don't control.
Combat footage is played from Funker530 under its own terms. Some clips show real violence and casualties; clips marked mature require you to confirm on Funker530 that you are 18 or older.
8. Accuracy
The maps are careful reconstructions from historical sources, and every battle shows an accuracy score explaining how sure we are of where units stood. Positions, numbers and casualty figures are estimates and attributed claims, and sources sometimes disagree. The atlas is for education and interest. Don't rely on it for navigation, safety, legal or other decisions. Corrections are welcome through "Report a problem" in the atlas.
9. No warranty
The site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. I don't promise it will always be available, error-free or uninterrupted.
10. Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, I am not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the site. My total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid Battlefield Atlas in the 12 months before the claim.
11. Ending access
I may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms, for example by sharing paid files or attacking the site. Otherwise, purchases are honored as described above.
12. Changes to these terms
I may update these terms as the atlas grows. The date at the top shows the latest version. Changes never take away a war pack or lifetime access you have already bought. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Virginia, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.
14. Contact
Use the contact form for questions about these terms, your purchases or the maps.
